Don’t you deserve a beautiful smile?

Hygiene

Dentistry services with Dr. Gino begin with what we like to call “comprehensive care.” Comprehensive care makes for the general services that become routine, the check-ups and preventative measures that ensure you’re afforded the advanced hygiene, early detection, and restorative dentistry to help your smile retain its youthful beauty without pain or debilitated function.

We take a comprehensive care approach in dentistry because there are fine specifics to consider for every smile. Quite simply, we avoids the “blanket approach” to dentistry. Instead, we consider every case individually and evaluate, based on your needs, the services you require. We are meticulous in our every screening because you deserve an honest and complete evaluation of your oral health.

Typically, our hygienic services are inclusive of an array of screenings which are delivered when you need them and if you need them, often using a dental camera and a high-resolution display system so you’re never in the dark about what goes on inside your mouth.

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal treatment starts with prevention: regular cleanings and good hygiene habits are excellent precautions to avoid gum disease. The main cause of periodontal disease is bacteria in the form of a sticky, colorless plaque that constantly forms on your teeth; however, other factors can cause the disease or influence its progression. Scaling, root planning and local delivery of antimicrobials can treat and prevent the progression of the disease. In some cases, surgical therapy or cosmetic solutions may be necessary to correct the damage from gum disease physically and cosmetically. Dr. Gino can evaluate your situation and present the best treatment options for you.

Laser Bacterial Reduction
We are constantly learning and striving to advance the standard of patient care in our office. As such we have recently added a new procedure to your routine cleaning care to help fight periodontal disease.

Periodontal disease affects approximately 80% of adults and is a growing epidemic in our society. Understanding of this disease has increased greatly over the last few years. We now know that Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection in the pockets around the teeth. As such, we not only treat perio with removal of mechanical irritants and diseased tissue (your normal cleaning) but are also addressing the underlying infection that causes it. With that thought in mind we recommend that all of our patients have their teeth decontaminated prior to cleaning for three major reasons.

  • To reduce or eliminate bacteremias. During the normal cleaning process most patients will have some areas that may bleed, this allows bacteria that are present in all of our mouths to flood into the bloodstream and sometimes settle in weakened areas of our body such as a damaged heart valve or artificial knee or hip. etc. We pre-medicate those patients that we know have a heart condition or artificial joints with antibiotics so that these bacteria can not cause harm to these areas. Latest research shows that these oral pathogens have now been linked to a number of other diseases such as cardiovascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis, low birth weight babies, diabetes etc. Needless to say anything that we can do to reduce or eliminate these bacteremias is a positive for our patients.

  • To prevent cross contamination of infections in one area of your mouth to other areas. Decontamination minimizes the chance that we may inadvertently pick up bacterial infection in one area of your mouth and move it to others.

  • To kill bacteria that cause periodontal disease and stop their infections before they cause physical destruction or loss of attachment around your teeth.

The laser decontamination process is painless and we highly recommend that you take advantage of this service as part of your routine cleaning.

Fillings

Cavities are a frequent dental issue. Luckily, they're subject to simple restorative action. Dr. Gino offers both basic tooth-colored restorations and metal-free adhesive fillings capable of restoring your teeth without the need for unreliable metals.

Inlay/Onlay Porcelain Crowns

Crowns are meant to cover damage teeth, protecting the remaining portion of the natural tooth and retaining natural appearance. We can make gorgeous custom porcelain crowns or restorations after an initial consultation and with a simple impression.

Restorations, depending on the state of the tooth, can be performed in a single session, usually in an hour, or with an additional sitting.

Our restorative crowns are metal-free and serve to fortify your smile without the typical discoloration brought by dark silver and mercury materials used in dental practices of the past. The porcelain material we use is compatible with the tissue in your mouth, high-grade, anti-abrasive, and plaque-resistant.

Root Canal Therapy

With today’s modern dental techniques, having root canals done by a dentist is no longer a scary experience. Dr Gino is experienced in performing root canal therapy. Extensive decay, an accident, tooth fracture or gum disease can kill teeth and cause a root canal symptom such as root canal pain or dental abscess. However, regardless of the root canal cause, your teeth can be saved using modern therapy to do root canal treatment.

Extractions

The last resort for badly traumatized and decayed teeth, extractions are a process seldom recommended but sometimes necessarily performed by Dr. Gino. Often extractions may lead to implants and further cosmetic dentistry, resulting in full-mouth restorations.

Dental bridges may also be applied after teeth extractions, replacing one or two missing teeth, making your smile whole again.
